Will a Quad-Band GSM Sim Card work in a Dual-Band phone?
My phone’s on the way out and I’m going to upgrade. I’m planning on keeping the SIM card I have and just changing phones. However, will a Quad-Band GSM SIM card work in a Dual-Band phone, especially a Cdma Phone? I’m not exactly technologically challenged but this is a bit over my head.
CDMA phones do not use Sim Cards. You’ll need to find a GSM phone in order to use a GSM sim card. Quad band, tri band, and dual band refers to the phone, not the sim card. If you are in the US, you’ll need to make sure the phone has the 850 and 1900 bands. If you are in the UK, you’ll need to make sure the phone has the 900 and 1800 bands.
